Let’s be real, the fingers are kinda gross.

From item > properties you can toggle the FK/IK values. For the eyes, you can adjust the height, size, and placement.Ĭlick the IK bones and open the sidebar with “N”. The eyes and mouth are the most expressive parts of a person’s face, especially when they don’t have a nose. As for the mouth, you can change the type (square or curved) and teeth placement. The rig is compatible with Blender 2.8 and 2.9.Ĭlick ‘eye control’ or ‘mouth control’ and press “N” to open the sidebar. The rig is available from Blendswap under Apex Hosting’s account here: FAQ All of the instructions were written prior to my arrival and probably drafted by an expert or something…probably. Before we dive in, let me start off by saying I am in no way qualified to teach you how to utilize this rig. This includes, but is not limited to Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook, and backwater social media like Storyfire. All of these features can be utilized for renders, animations, fan art, thumbnails, and generally anything you’d need a Minecraft character for. This rig in particular has many features which include fancy feet, a flip bone, wrists, fingers, the ability to toggle between a smooth and a square mouth, adjustable eye placement along with size, squash, and stretch, and the ability to extrude. This stud was handcrafted for use in Apex Hosting advertisements and social media posts. lol it’s a good add on for sure but rigify is free and my god is it GREAT! Once you understand the building blocks you can legit rig anything and make it game ready very fast. The Apex Hosting Rig is a pretty nifty Minecraft Character rig for Blender 2.8 and 2.9. Also I still don’t know how to turn on the IK for the arms. Imma keep it a stack what turned me off was not having the ability to create new bones for weapons. I know exactly what’s wrong with my rigs and also how to fix it. Honestly learning how to rig from scratch was the best decision I’ve made. I’ve had the plug-in since version 3.2 and I’ve only used it a few times. A lot of the tutorials are super old as well. Now ARP has the retargeting feature which is CLUTCH but also not well documented. Also since I make all my characters in the same pose I never have to create a new rig I can just keep duplicating the same rig with the same animations etc. I set up a rig in less than 30 minutes and can improve and iterate on it non destructively. I’m not sure if you guys have looked into “Rig Anything With Rigify” but hear me out. Yes it’s easy to bang out a rig but if you want to add bones or make adjustments you have to do it a certain way. The biggest thing about the prebuilt rigs is that it doesn’t allow that much customization.
